Birds of a feather stick together

THESE ducklings proved that birds of a feather stick together after being rescued from the roof of the Winter Gardens in Weston yesterday.
The seven ducklings were stuck together by industrial glue, and were rescued from the roof before being taken to Secret World Wildlife Rescue centre in East Huntspill for treatment.
Staff and volunteers used white spirit to remove the glue, before bathing the ducklings in washing-up liquid, but three of them died overnight, with a fourth having died earlier in the day.
Saying careless disposal by contractors may be to blame for the accident, centre founder Pauline Kidner said: “We really doubted that we would be able to save them as they appeared dead when they arrived.
“Although it is early days yet, we are thrilled that they are looking so much better in the incubator and will soon be able to feed.”
