ONE of Weston's most historic buildings has missed out on a massive makeover.Weston Town Council's bid for £44,600 of lottery money for The Blakehay went to the public vote. But the building in Wadham Street lost out to three projects in Wiltshire and one in Gloucestershire. The Blakehay went head-to-head with other entries on the ITV West 6pm news and the result was decided by public text and phone support. If the bid had been successful the cash would have been used to refurbish the auditorium and put in new seats and carpets. Now the refurbishment can't take place as soon as the town council would have liked.Town Council Leader, Councillor Robert Payne, said: "This is not the end of the project. The refurbishment plans are still in place.
