Edna and Ray Allard, celebrate 60 years of marriage on new years eve

A Worle couple celebrated 60 years of marriage on New Year’s Eve.

Edna and Ray Allard (pictured left) met on a blind date in Kent and celebrated their diamond day yesterday (Mon).

Ray, aged 90, who worked with the RAF and later as an insurance agent, and 80-year-old Edna, who worked as a secretary before the couple married, moved to Weston in 1969. The couple, of Teal Close, will celebrate the big occasion with all of their family, which includes their four daughters, three sons, 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

When asked what has made their marriage last so long, Edna said: “We don’t argue at all.

“We just love each other and enjoy every day together.”
