JUDGES from the South West in Bloom competition visited Weston as it prepares to take on other towns all over the region.
The judges had a tour of some of the town’s best floral sites on July 13, before watching a presentation at The Blakehay Theatre in Wadham Street.
The town, which won a silver gilt award in last year’s competition, is up against Taunton, Bath, Paignton and Torquay at the 2011 awards ceremonies in Newquay on September 15.
Weston Town Council clerk Malcolm Nicholson said: “I think everyone worked very hard, it’s really thanks to the volunteers that the displays look so lovely.
“Weston in Bloom is not just about winning first place, it’s about brightening up the town and making it a really nice place to walk around.”
