A year four pupil from Cheddar First School will see her drawing brought to life.

Bloor Homes, which is currently building 90 homes off Upper New Road in the village, asked pupils at the school to design a bedroom which will be recreated in the development’s show home.

Cerys created a woodlands design which won her first prize in the competition.

The scheme will include every aspect of the winner’s ideas from the wall decorations to the furnishings and will open in December.

Headteacher Maggie Wookey said: “As a community school we have been delighted to take part in this inspirational project with Bloor Homes.

“It has given the children a unique insight into the design and build process and a wonderful opportunity to meet professional designers.”

Bloor Homes presented three runners-up with gifts from Hobbycraft. It also donated £300 to the school to put towards art equipment.
