Police have warned people posing as handymen have offered to do home and garden work and taken money without carrying it out.
It is expected many home owners will get a knock at the door offering services such as weed clearing, hedge trimming and tree surgery.
Police advise to use a reputable local tradesman when possible and ask for identification and full contact and billing details before hand.
