A SPORT with a continental flavour could soon take off in Redhill.

Houshy Rahimi is urging the local community to support the village club, as it looks to make the most of its facilities.

He wants to start a mini boules league, if enough players come forward. Currently he has 20-24 interested people but wants a few more before committing to a league format.

The sport is popular in nearby Wrington and Mr Rahimi hopes it will take off in similar fashion in Redhill.

He said: “We want to do something because we have the facilities.

“Redhill Village Club has been going more than 100 years and it is very popular but it needs the support of the local community.”

Anyone interested in playing can call Mr Rahimi on 07980 924957.
