BARRIERS may be installed to stop boy racers causing chaos in a restaurant car park.More than 70 cruisers filled the Weston Links car park off Winterstoke Road on Sunday night, blocking in customers of Pizza Hut.The car park has only 65 spaces and police officers had to block off the road and towed away two of the cruisers' cars to get them to leave. The manager of Pizza Hut, who wished to remain nameless through fear of reprisal attacks, said the car park had become a regular meeting place on Sunday nights. He said: "We've tried to hire security guards, but they are not the most welcoming thing to have when you're running a restaurant."The boy racers come down here and park all over the place, not just in the allocated spaces. I've been blocked in before and so have other people who are eating or picking up takeaways."The music from the cars is really loud and we've lost a lot of money because of them."We're looking at barriers and other means to restrict them getting into our car park as it's got beyond a joke."North Somerset councillor Ian Parker said: "The boy racers leave a huge amount of litter and anything that can be done to make the place look tidier would be welcomed."Antisocial behaviour co-ordinator Terry Crees said police officers found it difficult to prevent cruisers meeting. He said: "Meetings are usually announced on mobile phones and hundreds of people are told about them in minutes."Officers do monitor their websites, but terrorists and hooligans get more priority.
