A ‘HEARTBROKEN’ 11-year-old from Weston is appealing to the crooks who stole his bike to give it back.

Milton Park Primary School student Aidan Bishop has made posters of his beloved silver BMX and has given them out around the town.

At 3pm on Friday the Locking Road resident popped into The Blakehay theatre in Wadham Street to do some filming for a new community TV channel, and had locked up his bike on the rack outside. But within five minutes it had disappeared.

Aidan’s father, Anthony, said: “He was devastated and was in bits when he realised someone had taken it. He also couldn’t do the filming as he was so upset.

“Riding a bike was easier for him as he has twisted hips and he had saved up for it himself.

“He was heartbroken and the sad thing is he still thinks he will get it back.

“This bike really was his pride and joy and it was going to be his transport for when he goes to secondary school later this year.

“We just can’t understand why someone would steal a child’s bike.”

The brand of the bike is Vertical, by Badlands. If anyone has information call police on 0845 4567000.
