CALLOUS thieves have left scouts in Weston in the dark after stealing their lanterns.
Members of 1st Uphill Scout Group have been left without three Coleman Dual Fuel Double Lanterns after the break-in at a container in Windwhistle Lane.
The stolen items were to be used for camping trips planned for this year.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area from December 22 to January 2 and seen anything suspicious to contact Weston Police Station on 0845 456 7000.
Officers would also like to hear from anyone who has been offered lanterns for sale.
