Plans to install a plaque at a village church to commemorate the end of World War One have been revealed.
Brent Knoll Royal British Legion (RBL) wants to install an engraved stone plaque at St Michael’s Church in Church Lane.
The plaque will be installed on the church’s existing war memorial which marks villagers who died during both world wars.
The RBL has applied to Sedgemoor District Council for listed building consent to carry out the work.
The application’s heritage statement says: “The village war memorial was in all probability built some 80-plus years ago, but there is no confirmed ownership.
“The importance to this village is that it commemorates the centenary of the end of World War One and is to be dedicated on Remembrance Sunday this November.”
Online comments can be made on the application until May 15.
