A BREWERY beat 66 companies to win a national award.

Butcombe Brewery, based in Wrington, won the food and drink category of the Made In The UK Awards.

The awards aim to showcase products, technologies and innovative designs across the country and the trophy was collected by off-trade sales director Martin Holland.

Guy Newell, managing director at Butcombe said: “Winning this national award is fantastic news for us, particularly when we
are up against such tough competition in a region which produces so many high quality products.

“We are proud to be consistently judged to be making some of the best beer
in the UK, which in turn brews the best beer in the world.

“We have invested in our people and technology to ensure that our beer has never been better both on draught and in bottle and it’s great to learn that the judges of Made In The UK agree.”

The company has also published a cookery book called Cooking With Beer & Cider which is available in Tesco from this month.
