Wells MP James Heappey and North Somerset MP Liam Fox also backed the Prime Minister’s bill.

Dr Fox was one of the main speakers backing Brexit ahead of the EU referendum last June, and he was made Secretary of State for International Trade by Theresa May when she became Prime Minister.

Last night’s vote saw 114 MPs vote against the Brexit bill.
