Dr Liam Fox says he is ‘honoured’ to have retained his position within Prime Minister Theresa May’s Cabinet.

The Conservative MP will stay on as Secretary of State for International Trade.

He was appointed to the position when Mrs May came to power in 2016 and retained it after last year’s General Election.

Dr Fox has been a vocal Brexit supporter and is responsible for ensuring the UK has new trade deals once the split with the European Union is ratified.

Few changes to Mrs May’s Cabinet were announced on Monday, despite rumours of a major overhaul.

Justine Greening left the Cabinet after refusing to take charge of the Department for Work in Pensions, with Esther McVey instead filling the vacancy.

Mrs Greening will be succeeded as Education Secretary by Damian Hinds.
