An intrepid team from a North Somerset not-for-profit organisation conquered an abseil down Uphill Quarry to raise money for its latest appeal.

The North Somerset Bird of Prey Centre is raising money to install nest box cameras to monitor fledgling and breeding birds at its site in Congresbury.

A spokesman for the centre said: “The guys did brilliantly.

“We are overwhelmed by the support and generosity from everyone who has donated so far. In sponsorship alone our team has raised more than £1,000.”
