Roadworks are continuing on a busy Weston-super-Mare road this week which will be closed overnight until Saturday.

Repair work on the B3440 Bristol Road, in St Georges, first started in April – and a second week of resurfacing resumed on Monday.

The road will be closed overnight from 8pm to 6am from the junction with Shepherds Way to Queensway, and from Shepherds Way to the A370 slip roads.

This will continue every night for the rest of the week, including Friday.

The scheme, which is being delivered by Skansa, will cost around £510,000 in total.

The work in April included repairs, improved road signs and a new cycle lane.
