A WESTON man has raised £2,000 for two children's hospitals by running an astonishing 210 miles in seven days.

Lorry driver Alan Wilcox tied on his running shoes to jog between Bristol and Blackpool, with sponsorship money being split between hospitals at the two locations.

Alan, of Maunsell Road, ran between 21 and 41 miles each day, and after completing his journey immediately turned his sights on an even tougher challenge.

He said: “It went well, I really enjoyed the run but was very tired at the end.

“I have got a new challenge, which is Land’s End to John O’Groats next year and I am looking for any firms who would like to sponsor me.”
