A flying club based at Bristol Airport is holding a fundraising event to raise money for a Weston toddler who needs a life-changing operation.

Bristol & Wessex Aeroplane Club is hosting the event this weekend in its flight lounge at the airport in Lulsgate Bottom.

The club is supporting Josie Edwards and Simon Hughes, who live in Weston.

They are trying to raise £100,000 to pay for specialist surgery which would enable their daughter Rosie-May to take her first steps.

More: Rosie-May needs £100k for specialist surgery to help her walk.

Rosie-May suffers from cerebral palsy and her parents want to take her over to America to have selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) surgery, which is not available on the NHS.

The fundraising event will feature a live band, a buffet and raffles and it will take place on Saturday evening from 7-10.30pm.

Tickets, priced £20, can be booked by emailing the family at Josie1997rosie@gmail.com or by contacting the flight lounge on 01278 473931.
