CARING Brownies in Clevedon have handed over cash to an animal charity.Members of 6th Clevedon West Brownies held a summer sale as part of their Friends to Animals Badge which raised a grand total of £184. The event included a raffle, refreshments and side stalls such as a teddy tombola and a play your cards right game. The money was handed over to PDSA national fund-raising manager Simi Epstein at the same time as the brownies received their Friends to Animals Badge. Sixth Clevedon West Brownies Brown Owl Ruth Wakefield said: "I am very proud or the Brownies for working so hard to raise money for such a worthy cause. Some of the girls spent a long time hand-making cards to sell on the craft stalls and others made cakes to raise money."Mr Epstein said: "It's wonderful that Clevedon Brownie group put so much effort into its summer fair and raised money for sick and injured pets. "The PDSA relies entirely on the generosity of the public to raise the £41million needed each year for its PetAid services and this donation will help ensure we can continue to treat pets in need of vets.
