YOUNG and old joined together to celebrate 50 years of a Cheddar girls' group.
The 2nd Cheddar Brownies held a birthday party on Saturday to mark the occasion and past and present members tucked into a buffet and looked through old photograph albums.
The original brown owl Elfie Deane also went along to the event and gave a speech thanking the women who attended and said how good it was to see that the pack was still going 50 years on.
Current brown owl Vicky Sweet said: "A lot of past leaders have kept in touch with us. There were only one or two who weren't able to make it so we had a very good turn out."
About 40 people turned up to the event, which was held in the brownie hut in the grounds of Cheddar First School.
Vicky added: "Joining the brownies is a great experience. I was a member when I was seven years old and have been a brown owl for almost 20 years."
The group urgently needs more volunteers to help run the brownie pack, which meets on Tuesdays from 6.15-7.45pm. For more details call Vicky on 01278 445054.
