THE staple ingredients were all present - tombolas, raffles, stalls and a barbecue groaning under the weight of dozens of sizzling beefburgers.
Yet Locking village fete could boast something which few other North Somerset events have managed so far this summer; the sun was shining, too.
The warm afternoon meant a bumper turnout to the village green, with hundreds of people determined to make the most of the occasion.
That meant traditional favourites like name the teddy and bat the rat enjoyed a successful day, with plenty of money raised for village causes.
