Avon and Somerset Constabulary have launched an appeal to find a man who burgled a house in Highbridge.

Police have released an e-fit picture of a man they would like to identify in connection with a distraction burglary in the area.

The man claimed to be from British Gas before stealing cash from the house.

The incident occurred in Highbridge on July 7 at 10.30am.

Police are urging anyone who recognises the man or with any information to call 101 and quote the reference number 5218150384.

Doorstop crime prevention advice from the police says people should call 999 if they feel threatened or intimidated by an unknown visitor, to their keep windows and doors secured when not in the room and ‘if you’re not sure, don’t open the door.’
