More than half of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge’s electorate have opted for a postal vote in the area’s neighbourhood plan.
They will receive ballot papers nearly two weeks before polling day on September 20 and councillors say anyone who does not get their paperwork on time should get in touch with Sedgemoor electoral services.
The neighbourhood plan aims to create a town square in Princess Street, install electric car charging points and protect the Pier Street car park.

Town councillor Phil Harvey, who chaired the neighbourhood planning group, said: “We understand around 60 per cent of those eligible to vote will be submitting their ballot papers by post.
“The plan will enable us together to create somewhere wonderful to live, work and play.”
Anyone who has not received their paperwork by Friday should call the electoral service on 03003 037800.
