Residents alerted the police who arrested and then charged two men.
The incident took place in Julians Acres in Berrow yesterday afternoon (Monday).
The police applauded the quick-thinking action of residents to cold callers, which resulted in the arrests.
Lloyd Hudson, aged 27, and Paul Parkes, aged 20, both from Nottingham, were charged to appear at Sedgemoor Magistrates Court on April 1.
They have been charged with acting as a pedlar without a pedlar's certificate.
