BURNHAM and Highbidge mayor Martin Cox was re-elected for a second term by councillors at a meeting last week.
The mayor was uncontested in retaining the role he took up in 2013, having been proposed and seconded by councillors Neville Jones and Peter Burridge-Clayton respectively during a full town council meeting on May 12.
Cllr Cox’s wife Arlene was also unanimously voted in, with Cllr Dennis Davey appointed deputy mayor and Cllr Mike Mansfield again voted second deputy mayor.
The mayor said he “The last 12 months have been great for me and the welcome has made me feel honoured to be mayor. I look forward to serving another 12 months and meeting so many interesting people.”
