Burnham's hovercraft charity held an emotional ceremony in memory of the town's former mayor and mayoress at the weekend - which has been described as a 'perfect' send-off.
Neville Jones died last year, having made quite an impact on the town. Not only did he serve as mayor, he was a well-known councillor and president of BARB Search and Rescue for 24 years.
In his will, he requested his ashes, and those of his late wife Margot, be scattered at sea by BARB.
A short ceremony was held on Saturday outside the BARB station before their ashes were scattered. Members of the Jones family who attended described it as a ‘very moving’ evening.
Margot’s nephew, John Owens, added: “It was a perfect, moving send-off which fully-honoured Neville and Margot’s wishes and we are very grateful to BARB for all their help.
“It was just what Neville and Margot wanted, as well as all the family.”
