Emergency services were called to reports of an incident in Adam Street, near the junction with Oxford Street, yesterday morning.

The male driver of the scooter suffered a head injury and chest pains.

The road was closed until mid-afternoon while emergency services were on the scene.

An air ambulance also landed on St Andrew’s School fields, in Dunstan Road, to help assist the man.

A South West Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 11.43am to a reported road traffic collision, involving a mobility scooter.

“The male patient was treated at the scene and taken onto Southmead Hospital for further treatment.”
