Two RNLI lifeboats were called to assist an ill person at Hinkley Point.

Both Burnham-on-Sea lifeboats were paged at 10.12pm on Friday following reports that a person had been taken ill aboard a working platform at the nuclear power plant.

Both boats made their way through thick fog to the platform where it was decided to medivac the casualty back to Burnham.

Burnham Coastguard assisted at the scene and the casualty was tended by an ambulance crew.

Both boats returned but, due to a low tide, had to be recovered using launch vehicles.
