Hundreds of Burnham RNLI crew and supporters have raised more than £1,500 at a charity ball.

The party was hosted at the Batch Country Hotel in Lympsham where guests enjoyed a three-course dinner and live music from local band Six Machine.

Following the meal, Burnham RNLI chairman Ashley Edwards introduced all of the volunteers in front of the crowd and thanked them for their service.

Guests also got to try their luck on two casino tables and take part in a raffle to further boost funds for the RNLI.

Organiser Lesley Hart said: “The RNLI is one big family with the emhasis on teamwork, and in a crisis we are all there for one another.

“I wish to thank the crew for its support in bringing this amazing event together.”

Burnham RNLI, based in Pier Street, covers the area from Watchet to Brean Down.

It has been in operation since December 23, 2003, and boasts 30 highly-trained lifeboat crew members.
