BUSES connecting Weston with Bristol have been given the ‘X factor’, with free Wi-Fi and leather seats, with funding through North Somerset Council.

First’s X1 buses have seen improvements after the council secured cash from the Local Sustainable Transport Fund’s Kick Start scheme.

To mark the changes, First is offering reduced fares between certain destinations and will hand out goodie bags.

Free journeys will also be on offer to residents from across the area as 26,000 homes will receive vouchers in the post.

Marc Reddy, Regional Commercial and Business Growth Director for First South West, said: “We are thrilled to have been able to upgrade the vehicles operating on this route, adding leather seats and giving customers access to free WiFi while they travel.

“These special touches do make a difference and we expect that both the commuters and leisure travellers using this service will appreciate the difference this makes.

“More than ever before customers will be able to use the journey to either work or relax, using the WiFi for instance to send or receive emails, or simply surf the web.”
