PUXTON Park is set to get bigger and better in the next 12 months as bosses prepare to pump another £100,000 into new developments.
The adventure park – located just outside of Weston along the A370 in Hewish – is set for a major lake attraction, a horse and barrel carousel and a completely new area, Lumberjacks Dash.
The zone will be a large outdoor space with a selection of huge natural logs lying on the ground for children to play around, balance on and explore.
Managing director Alistair Mead said: “We are thrilled to announce we plan to invest another £100,000 into new attractions this year, following the huge success of our bumper boats in 2014.”
The park spent £80,000 on the boats last year providing a fun new attraction for its visitors.
Mr Mead said: “We would like to thank everyone for their continued support, without which we would not have been able to achieve all that we have to date.”
As well as investing in new facilities, money will also be spent on planting as many as 2,000 new shrubs and trees to encourage more wildlife into the area.
The park is also hoping its plans for 120 log cabins will be approved this year, with hopes the holiday accommodation will boost tourism and jobs.
Operations manager Phil Payne said: “The plan is for 120 lodges and as a result we are hoping to create 20 new jobs.
“We are planning to landscape around the lodges in order to conceal them, planting 700 trees.
“We have had around 50 letters of support for the plans.”
Mr Mead said: “Puxton is widely becoming known one of the most popular adventure parks in the region and through our continued investment we hope to maintain this position.”
