A Worle store has thanked its loyal customers for their continued support during the pandemic.

Skidmores, which was founded in 1919, has weathered many turbulent times including a world war and recessions and staff were determined not to let the pandemic stop them in their tracks.

The pandemic has had a devastating effect on so many people and countless businesses, but bosses were determined to find a way through, with the support of their loyal customers.

Skidmores, in Worle High Street, has been offering round-the-clock promotions during the second national lockdown as non-essential shops were able to offer click and collect and delivery services.

Staff have also been busy preparing the store for Christmas - adding festive videos and photos to Skidmores' Facebook page to enable shoppers to see the shop's wide range of Christmas gifts and decorations.

The response to the festive posts has been 'phenomenal' and the store's Christmas window has also been helping to brighten up the shopping area.

Company director and co-owner Mike Skidmore says: “The response from local people has been fantastic.

"In these tricky times it’s really important to shop local and support one another.

"Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far and please do keep doing so.

"If you don’t feel you want to shop in person, do take a look at our Facebook videos, it will definitely help get you in the Christmas spirit.

"Our hearts go out to those impacted by these terrible times and we thank our key workers.

"We are also thinking of other local businesses, such as those in hospitality, who may have to stay closed this week.”

Shops are able to reopen again, under the latest Government restrictions, and staff at Skidmores are looking forward to welcoming customers back through the doors.
