British surfwear company Saltrock was officially opened by Mayor Roz Willis on Saturday and its town centre shop will sell casual clothes for men and women.

The firm was set up in Cornwall in the late-1980s and has stores across the country from the South West to as far north as Newcastle.

Head of sales Sean Burch said: “This period of expansion is an exciting time for us.

“Weston will be the third new Saltrock store to open in a month. Saltrock is a very great place to be at the moment, and we are looking at even stronger growth next year and beyond.”
