A PUB has reopened with new managers promising it will once again become the heart of the community.
The Prince of Orange in Yatton High Street welcomed drinkers again last week as it opened its door once more.
It has been closed on several occasions over the past few months because of difficulties in finding a licensee willing to take on the premises.
Lyndon Stevens and Tom Rossiter have been parachuted in by Westward Management group to get the place running again and to make improvements.
Mr Rossiter said: “The first week went well and things are picking up.
“We want to make it the heart of the community again.”
The pair have worked at a variety of Somerset pubs in recent years varying from Portishead to Minehead.
Mr Stevens believes the key to making the Prince of Orange a success is by holding as many events as possible.
A fortnightly quiz will take place on Monday nights while music events are also planned.
Opening hours have been extended and they also plan to improve the beer garden to make it a more attractive summer venue, while a buyer is sought.
Mr Stevens said: “It is £30,000 a year to take this place on. But there are so many rooms in here that the place is more than viable.”
He said they could be here for months or more than a year but are keen to make the pub as nice a place to drink as possible.
