NORTH Somerset Council has said it will be business as usual for recycling collections over the festive period.
Employees will be collecting on all the official bank holidays, so the council is urging residents to put out their recycling and waste containers and bins on their normal collection days.
Councillor Carl Francis-Pester, the council’s executive member for environment, said: “The message is simple this year – there’s no change to your collection dates over the festive period.
“Rubbish increases by more than 30 per cent over the festive period so we want everyone to recycle as much as possible this Christmas.”
Weston’s recycling centre will be closed on December 25 and 26 and January 1, but will be open on the bank holidays on December 27 and 28 and January 2 and 3.
