ANOTHER High Street retailer has had a troubled Christmas period.

Administrators were called in to The Officers Club on December 23.

The men's clothing chain, which has a branch in Weston's Sovereign Shopping Centre, has been suffering during the economic downturn.

Administrator Price Waterhouse Coopers has announced the sale of a significant proportion of the business and assets to TimeC 1215 Limited, a newly-formed company backed by The Officers Club director David Charlton.

A total of 32 stores excluded from the sale will be closed with immediate effect.

The Weston & Somerset Mercury cannot yet confirm what the future holds for the Weston outlet.
