RARE and endangered animals have benefited from the conservation work done by two quarry companies.
Hanson UK and Aggregates Industries own land on the Mendip Hills near Cheddar.
They were joint winners in the landscape category of the Biodiversity Awards, which are supported by Natural England.
Dormice, bats, snakes and butterflies have all benefitted from the work, as well as the Cheddar Pink flower.
