A FORMER Banwell resident has won a prestigious national trophy for his brewing skills.
Tom Newman was handed a gold award at the True Taste Awards held in Llandudno, but he made his first concoction eight years ago while living in the village, and named it Wolvers Ale after his former address in Wolvershill Road.
The 36-year-old, who is now based in Caerphilly with his brewery firm The Celt Experience, said: “This award is massive to be honest.
“For a high-end product like ours, this award is exactly what we want at this time. To receive an accolade like this, we are over the moon.”
