PLANS to build a micro brewery in Congresbury have been backed by the village’s parish council.
The authority voted to recommend granting planning permission to the small farm business at a committee meeting on Monday. A final decision will be made by North Somerset Council.
Keith and Debra Hayles want to turn a building at Yeowood Farm in Iwood Lane into Twisted Oak Brewery and run it as a part-time family business. They hope it will be open as soon as August, if planning permission is approved quickly.
Keith said: “It’s really small-scale and we will be doing small runs of beer, which will be sold to local outlets, delis and restaurants.”
