Community projects will benefit from a fund set up by the South West’s leading airport.

Bristol Airport has created the diamond fund and will make £60,000 available to support people, projects and events which are not currently eligible for donations through its local community fund, which has donated more than £720,000 to projects since 2011.

The diamond fund marks the 60th anniversary of operations on the airport’s Lulsgate Bottom site.

Jacqui Mills, public and community relations manager at the airport, believes the community will really benefit from the initiative.

She said: “The launch of the diamond fund will enable us to be more flexible in the projects we support, accepting applications from towns and villages in the wider area around the airport, while still focusing our local community fund on helping our closest neighbours.”
