BRITISH Telecom is calling on Somerset communities to compete in a race for super-fast broadband.
Households and businesses in the county will be able to demonstrate local demand for super-fast fibre broadband by taking part in a nationwide BT survey, run as a competition called the Race to Infinity.
Communities in the race include Burnham, Axbridge, Wedmore, Cheddar, Brent Knoll, Mark Moor and Brean Down.
People can vote for their area at www.bt.com/racetoinfinity until December 31 and BT will upgrade the five UK exchanges with the highest demand by 2012.
