A BUTCHERY counter at Puxton Park will be operated by the Mead family after its supplier went into administration.

Gerald David and Family, which was established in 1969, was forced to go into administration this month as a result of growing supermarket competition.

Now, the owners of the popular farm tourist attraction, off the A370 at Hewish, have stepped in to save the meat counter.

Puxton Park’s managing director, Alistair Mead, said: “We believe in celebrating our region and embracing locally sourced products.”
