A BUSINESS show for North Somerset has expanded to include firms from Sedgemoor.

The North Somerset and Sedgemoor Business Show will hold its annual event on Wednesday at The Winter Gardens, giving businesses a platform to showcase their goods and services as well as network and source new contacts.

The first seminar speaker has also been announced this week – representatives from The Prince’s Initiative for Mature Enterprise will discuss assisting people aged over 50 to set up their own business.

A spokesman for the show said: “The North Somerset Business Show has always been about giving local businesses an affordable platform - both to showcase their goods and services, and to source new, local suppliers.

“Businesses in Sedgemoor are just as local to Weston as those in Portishead.

“As commerce doesn’t operate to geographical boundaries, we felt that it was wrong to restrict the reach of the business show to one administrative area. So, with the support of Sedgemoor District Council, we have extended into southern part of our region - giving Sedgemoor businesses the same low exhibitor rates as North Somerset-based businesses.”

The show will take place from 11am-5pm on Wednesday at The Winter Gardens.
