A GROUP of businesses from the region met in the North Somerset Business And Youth Showcase and raised more than £5,000 for charitable causes.
The event was organised and sponsored by the Rotary Club of Wrington Vale and was held at the Thatchers Cider headquarters in Station Road, Sandford.
The cash raised was shared between local youth groups, many of whom provided refreshments and entertainment throughout the day.
The 1st Banwell Scouts received £1,000, the Young Axbridge Community Theatre got £1,000, the Crossroads Young Carers got £1,000, the St John Ambulance gained £1,000, the Butcombe & Blagdon Youth Work Trust got £500, the Cheddar Youth Trust got £500 and the Axbridge Sea Cadets also got £500.
