A WESTON company has been appointed to escort prisoners and carry out custodial services in the town on behalf of the Ministry of Justice.

Amey, which has offices in The Hedges, is part of a newly formed joint venture business called GEOAmey PECS Ltd.

This company has won three contracts worth up to �900million to provide prison escort and custody services over a possible 10-year period.

Amey already looks after two court buildings for Her Majesty’s Court Service and carries out several contracts for Network Rail.
