COFFEE drinkers have dug deep to help raise money for a charity which supports former RAF personnel.

Collections have been held by Life Coffee Cafes, a Worle-based franchise running 10 Costa Coffee shops.

In total, £1,000 was collected during June, to coincide with Armed Forces Day, and that money has now been presented to the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Life Coffee Cafes director Richard Davis said: “We wanted to support our armed forces, so with local support, we collected for the RAF Benevolent Fund, who have a respite break facility in Weston called Flowerdown House.”

Staff from the coffee chain attended the handover, taking along cakes and refreshments for residents of Flowerdown House.
