Carbase, in Aisecome Way, has collected more than £5,000 for Above & Beyond to fund a bilirubin monitor for the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at St Michael's Hospital.

The equipment is used with newborn babies to check for neonatal jaundice.

Generous staff visited Bristol Royal Hospital for Children to hand over the donation.

Carbase manager Gordon Veale said: "Visiting the children's hospital, St Michael's and the great staff who work tirelessly there really brings home the wonderful work they do, and we are extremely proud to be able to contribute funding for vital equipment.

"Well done to all of our staff for dipping into their pockets in support of this brilliant charity.

"We are looking forward to raising even more in the near future."
