A WORLE care home has been bought out of administration for £6.8million and the company is keen to get the community involved in running it once again.
The Summer Lane Care Centre, in Diamond Batch, has been in administration for the past three years but has now been acquired by Country Court Care. The company will be refurbishing the 90-bed centre and employing a further 20 staff as it opens up 20 rooms that have been closed during the past three years.
Chairman, Abdul Kachra, said: “This is another example of a fabulous home which needs care and attention to bring it out of what has been a tough few years.”
Managing director, Alykhan Kachra, added: “At a time when social care beds are constantly in the news, and hospitals are struggling for beds due to the limited number of quality care facilities to discharge their patients into, we are ready to meet the challenge of supporting the hospitals and community where needed.”
