A RAILWAY repair company has donated £250 to Weston RNLI’s £300,000 fundraising appeal for a new lifeboat station.
Staff from Macrail, which reports on the progress of railway repairs, voted for the RNLI to be its charity for 2015.
Some staff plan to walk up Mount Snowdon next year and the company will also participate in the raft race on Marine Lake.
To kick-start its fundraising, a £250 cheque was presented to Weston RNLI fundraising chairman Peter Elmont and treasurer Judy Hayes.
Mr Elmont said: “We look forward to working with Macrail. They will help us reach towards our target of £300,000 we need before we can start building our new station.”
