TWO friends are opening a cocktail bar in Weston-super-Mare in the hope of ‘revolutionising’ the town’s nightlife.

Dan Lomax and Jamie Richardson hope to launch Bar Cameo in the next few weeks.

The bar, in Walliscote Road, is in the former building for bar and restaurant Empire, and previously Mythos.

Dan and Jamie, who grew up together in Weston and have since graduated from Cardiff and Nottingham Universities, have decided to give it a funk and disco music theme.

Dan said: “We have both recently graduated and the opportunity arose so we went for it.

“We looked at the nightlife in Weston, and wanted to change it up a bit.

“The music will be really different to everywhere else. Our idea is to revolutionise the nightlife.”

The menu will feature a variety of well-known cocktails, and will include a two for £10 deal on the opening night.

Dan said: “With the decor, it is a really nice place to go.

“We think it will be somewhere people can go first in the evening, or stay for the night.”

The pair will have two DJs from Bristol to provide the music on the opening night.

They also hope to have more DJs visit the bar on weekends and will have some themed evenings in the future.
